Nintendo Switch OS Redesign

Nintendo Switch OS Redesign

A conceptual overhaul of the Nintendo Switch system software, focused on a "content-first" philosophy. This redesign introduces a clean, vertical library layout, integrated player statistics, and a refined navigation bar to create a more immersive and efficient user experience. This piece is not finished, and was made to learn Figma. However at some point I may come back and finish this piece.

Documentation

Integrated Achievement System: Finally brings a native trophy/achievement layer to the Switch. The home screen now displays game progress and total play time directly under the game tile.

Dynamic Library Management: Introducing a dedicated Folders system and a Favorites toggle. This allows users to curate their library beyond "Most Recently Played," making it easy to jump back into long-term titles or party games.

Refined Navigation Architecture: The top navigation bar has been condensed into a minimalist hub. By grouping System Settings, User Profiles, and Notifications into clean, recognizable icons, the layout eliminates clutter and keeps the focus on the game library.

Nintendo Music Integration: Built-in player that allows users to stream iconic soundtracks while browsing the OS or in the background of compatible apps - bringing the "Nintendo Music" ecosystem directly into the console experience.

High-Impact Vertical Tiles: Moving away from standard squares to a vertical "poster" format allows for higher-fidelity art and a more premium, cinematic feel to the home menu.

Modernized System Dock: A floating bottom-center dock houses essential file management and community tools, ensuring the most-used utilities are always a single button-press away without obscuring the main interface.
